About Me

I was born in the town of Gabrovo, located in north-central Bulgaria, where I lived throughout my early childhood before my family moved to the United States. I received a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from San José State University.

Ever since getting my first computer (a Compaq Presario 2295) at an early age I have been in love with computers and have been a curious relentless tinkerer ever since. Some of the cool things that I remember doing during those days were messing around with port scanners looking for Windows NetBIOS exploits and writing Tcl scripts for eggdrop, an IRC bot.

The areas in computing that I am captivated by are in distributed systems, anything related to working with data, and information security.

I’m a big sports fan and watch a fair bit of TV series–probably more than I should. Some of my hobbies other than programming include traveling, hiking while listening to audiobooks, watching movies, and building out my homelab.
